The mission of the College is to be a distinguished provider of the highest quality education and we commit to this by ensuring we employ the best teachers, whose passion is to improve students’ achievements.  Staff go above and beyond to support students throughout their time here and this is reflected in the results and positive feedback we receive in student surveys.  

Staff often contribute to academic journals and articles, and have published books relating to their fields of expertise.  Many of our teaching staff are also examiners, meaning they are experts in exam technique.  They also have a deeper understanding of the standards required for assessments, with many contributing to and writing exam board text books.

Teachers from across the College are asked to speak at prestigious local, national and international events about their subject specialism and the teaching methods they implement in their classroom.

Staff are dynamic in their approach to learning, keen to try new teaching methods and share good practice to find the best approach for their students.  Our staff are reflective professionals, always striving to improve students' understanding in lessons through guided practise (such as scaffolding, modelling and effective questioning) whilst creating opportunities for elaboration and discussion.

Teachers involve students in their learning so they leave here with the skills required to flourish in this ever-changing world.  This goes beyond subject specific skills: we want our young people to be motivated, resilient, reflective, independent, and fully prepared for their next steps after college.
