Health Promotion Week 2018
Posted on 01 February 2018

Students studying health and social care took part in a week full of health promotion and presented their own campaigns to their peers which is an element of their current module. They set up information stalls to discuss topics such as smoking, mental health, healthy eating and stress.

Throughout the week students also attended talks from industry professionals. Rushmoor Healthy Living spoke about their aim to improve people’s health and wellbeing across the local community by providing exercise, rehabilitation classes and health education. No Limits Help, also based in Hampshire, informed students about sexual health, the risks associated with STIs and how countywide health campaigns are run.

Dom Dufour, Subject Tutor for health and social care commented, “The talks were fantastic, really interactive and informative, giving students an insight into how health campaigns are run.”

Susie NymanCurriculum Manager for health and social care said, “It is always brilliant for our students to share their expertise on health promotion with other members of the College community. It was a wonderful success, staff and students were impressed with the displays and loved the return of the homemade stressballs!”
