A group of students have been working, together with students from Cove School and The Wavell School, on a project to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War One, focusing on the role of the Gurkhas. Throughout the year, the groups have met and interviewed serving Gurkhas and members of the Nepalese community. They have also taken part in a series of creative workshops and, once finished, their projects will be put on display to the public and available online. Students have developed cultural and community understanding and a greater knowledge of the vital role Gurkhas played in World War One.

Back in September, the group met Gurkhas from 10 The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment as part of their initial research. Students asked prepared questions to find out what current Gurkhas know about the role of their predecessors. They also visited the Gurkha Museum in Winchester to gather further information.

In November and December students started their creative projects. The group from Cove School concentrating on photography, The Wavell School looking at poetry, and College students focusing on music and song writing.
