Year 10 pupils from eight of our partner and link schools; Alderwood School, Court Moor School, Farnham Heath End School, Fernhill School, Robert May's School, Tomlinscote School, The Wavell School and Frogmore Community College took part in the annual Murder Mystery event at the College.
Working in cross school teams, the task was to investigate the ‘crime scene’ and carry out forensic tests, considering psychological profiling and questioning techniques to formulate a case. The day is designed to stretch and challenge students, to put their theory into practice in a ‘real life’ scenario to solve a mysterious murder case from crime scene to court case.
The day ended with teams formulating arguments to defend suspects in a frighteningly realistic court case. The judges were impressed by the standard of all the team’s presentations and found it difficult to decide on a winner. Eventually they settled on a team comprising of students from Court Moor, Heath End, Robert May's and Tomlinscote who presented the most compelling argument to the court.
Staff and students from across many College departments including drama, media, chemistry, biology, law and psychology were involved in producing what proved to be a very enjoyable and interesting day.
