Considering your next steps after College can be an overwhelming task!  Our Moving On Day, which has grown in size year on year and is now the largest event of its kind in the UK, is designed to inspire and advise first year students about their future options, making that next step a simple one.

This year, the event was proudly sponsored by five renowned universities:

Over 230 seminars were delivered to nearly 2000 students by university academics, apprenticeship providers and professionals from various fields of industry including, business, law, aviation and the arts.  Alongside the seminars, there were 150 exhibition stands featuring representatives from universities, employers, apprenticeship providers and organisations such as the Royal Navy and the British Army.

The University of Portsmouth kindly brought their new Health Simulation Lorry which provided a fantastic opportunity for students to see inside an operating theatre and hear about the healthcare courses the university provides.

Many of our ex-students attended the event, offering their perspective on life after college, giving a different view of the many progression pathways available.  One ex-student now works on Hollywood blockbusters creating special effect and creature costumes.  She has worked on films such as Harry Potter, Batman and Star Wars and students enjoyed listening to her experiences of working in this industry.
