Two fine art students have recently been selected to exhibit their artwork at the annual National Students’ Art Exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London. This highly regarded event features work by the best young artists, aged 12 to 18, chosen from schools, colleges and academies across the country. This national exhibition aims to celebrate and encourage gifted and talented students early on in their careers and inspire more young people to enter The Arts as a profession.
This year, first years students Anna Alder and Oli Baines were among the chosen artists. Oli commented, “I was so proud to see my work in a gallery in London and a little shocked! The standard of artwork was so high, it proved difficult to tell the student work from the professionals in the other exhibitions!”
Curriculum Manager for fine art, Paul Ayres said, “It is a real honour to see our students work in such a prestigious place and a great end to another fantastic year!”
