Executive Office Assistant
(Two posts available)
Closing Date: Thursday 13 December 2018
Salary: Grade E £19,983-£22,729 per annum
The College seeks to appoint an Executive Office Assistant whose role will be to support the day to day running of a very busy office which has a wide variety of responsibilities including central College administration, marketing and PR, and event management.
Every day is different in the Executive Office and work is truly varied – one moment dealing with the concerns of an individual student and the next planning to host a visit by an influential MP. The team in which you will be working is small and dynamic – resilience and the ability to rise above the storm is of paramount importance. We need someone who can effectively manage multiple tasks and who is excited by challenging deadlines!
The importance of effective and high quality support for the Senior Leadership Team, which includes the Principal, Assistant Principals and Directors, cannot be overstated; your support will allow the SLT to continue to maintain the reputation of the College as an ‘outstanding’ education provider. A requirement for all who work in the Executive Office is absolute discretion at all times as the SLT handle confidential and sensitive information daily.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a skilled communicator with a positive approach: a ‘can do’ attitude and being a team player are essentials in this role. The Executive Office is a fast-time response hub for often rapidly changing College and national events: when the need arises (as it often does), it can be all hands to the pump for all College staff therefore a flexible approach is essential!
You will have some experience of supporting the successful delivery of events and be a confident user of the suite of Microsoft Office IT programmes. Ideally, you will also have some experience of using Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator but this is not essential and training can be provided if needed.
You will report directly to the Executive Office Manager who in turn reports directly to the College Principal. This post is full time and hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. You must also be willing to work several key College events outside of normal working hours, for which time off in lieu will be granted.
