We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate able to teach Sport and PE in a growing and successful curriculum area. The candidate will be required to teach on the Level 3 Vocational Sport programme, with the possibility of teaching A Level P.E. Sport and PE is delivered by a team of 9 specialists in a department identified as outstanding.

The department currently offers Level 3 BTEC Sport (single and double); A level PE; Sports Leadership and a full enrichment programme. There are currently over 400 students studying on courses across the department and over 350 representing the College competitively.
The Post of Sport and P.E Tutor
We are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:
You will be expected to teach on both the Year 1 and Year 2 Level 3 Vocational Sport programmes – the department is moving to Cambridge Technical from BTEC programmes in September 2020, As well as contribute to the enrichment programme. You should be capable of delivering the subject to a wide range of student abilities.
In addition we are looking for a candidate who recognises the critical importance of developing our students’ literacy and numeracy skills and will implement this as an integral part of their teaching.
Candidates will be part of a team where resources and ideas are freely shared for the greater good of the department. The successful applicant is expected to be flexible, not afraid to meet challenges, and innovative in their approach to curriculum delivery.

For graduates we will organise and fund a teaching qualification – usually a PGCE – a saving for most graduates of at least £9,000. In addition we offer Qualified Teacher Status (i.e. completion of the statutory induction period) through Hampshire Local Authority and in partnership with one of our local schools.
