A Success Story from Pass IT On...

Thanks to Pass It On, David Cleeve, a client of the scheme, has achieved his lifelong dream of completing a book of his memoirs. David joined Pass IT On in October 2013 and was partnered with Sophie and Alice, student volunteers from the College, who have been teaching David how to use word, layout text, add photos and use the internet to do research.

After completing his memoirs, the College printed copies of the book for David, his family members and the College Library for future students to read.

This book is a wonderful read and we are so pleased that with the help of our students David has been able to fulfil his ambitions.

Here is a short snippet from the book, talking about David's time at Pass IT On, “On average, there 16 old aged pensioners on a Monday afternoon being taught how to use modern technology. My two students, Sophie and Alice, are the best thing since sliced bread to me. They both deserve a medal; I have learnt such a lot in 4 terms and now I am in my 5th term. The best thing about the The Sixth Form College Farnborough is that it is free for pensioners and the students give their time free, what a wonderful bunch the students are. I shall carry on coming to college as there is so much to learn, you are never too old to learn. It has given me a new lease of life.”

David will be joining us in for the next session of Pass IT On in October where he will begin work on his new book about Cove's history.
