Results Day 2020

Results for A level, EPQ and level 3 vocational qualifications will be available to view on CristalWeb on Thursday 13 August 2020 from 8:00am.  UCAS Track information is also available from 8:00am.

If you have forgotten your CristalWeb password, please call the College on 01252 688200.  You don’t have to wait until Results Day to do this!

Post-Results Services

If you need assistance, advice or guidance regarding results or entrance into university, please complete the Google Form (available from Results Day) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are anticipating a high number of enquiries and will use the Google Form as a way of managing the numbers, so it may take time for us to respond to your queries - your patience is appreciated.  We would encourage you not to telephone the College as you will be directed to the online Google Form.

This flowchart will explain the next steps you need to take if you have applied for university.  There is also more information available on the UCAS website

Your Grades

The Government announcement regarding the ability for a student to use a mock grade instead of the calculated grade has caused confusion.  At the moment we have no definition from the Government about what a mock actually is.  They say it should be a formal one, but are yet to provide details on exactly what that means.  We are very anxious not to give you a mock grade that we then have to withdraw or, at worst, downgrade.

This means that you will receive:

  • your Centre Assessed Grade, which the College generated, alongside;
  • your Calculated Grade that the exam boards have given you.

We will not be providing a mock grade for the reasons given above, so please do not contact the College for this information.  Once we know what the Government’s position on the definition of a formal mock is, then we will let you know if we can use the mock grade in any sort of appeal.

You can view a statement from Ofqual here

Centre Assessed Grades

Due to the cancellation of exams this year, the awarding of results is very different.  To help you understand the Centre Assessed Grading (CAG) process, Ofqual has published a student guide which you can view here.  There is also a summary of the College CAG process on the CristalWeb ‘Examination Information’.  We advise you to read these documents carefully in advance of receiving your results.

Statement of Results

If you require a statement of your results, these can be generated through CristalWeb on your 'Exam Results' page.  Your statement of results is proof of results until official exam board certificates are issued at the end of the year.  Please remember to save a copy of your statement of results somewhere other than your College account.  Your access to CristalWeb will be removed at the end of September 2020.

UCAS

  • Universities are automatically notified of results and will confirm places to students who achieve offer conditions.
  • In recent years, some near misses have also had places confirmed.
  • There is an initiative called ‘Adjustment’, if your grades are ABB+. To qualify for this, you also need to have exceeded your firm offer. In our experience, this has not made a great deal of difference to students’ places.
  • You may need to use Clearing.
  • Please don’t forget that the UCAS website is a wonderful resource prior to, and on, Results Day.

Clearing from College

Information about clearing from College can be found here.
