The Sixth Form College Farnborough is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA to provide an inclusive online experience. 

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:

• Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
• Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
• Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
• Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
• Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
• Captioning and Transcripts: Multimedia content, such as videos, includes captions or transcripts where applicable.
• Responsive Design: Our website is designed to work on various devices and screen sizes, including desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones
• Keyboard Navigation: The website is navigable via keyboard to accommodate users who cannot use a mouse
• Text Readability: We use clear and legible fonts, and sufficient colour contrast to enhance readability

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

We continuously work to improve our accessibility; however, some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 standards; non compliance and exemptions are listed below:

Alternative Text for Images: ?Most of our images are provided with meaningful alternative text where appropriate. However, there may be some instances where images do not provide enough information about the image which may affect users with screen readers who require a description, or the image needs to be indicated as purely for decorative purposes (WCAG: 1.1.1). 

PDF Accessibility: Certain older PDF documents available on the site may not be optimised for screen readers.

Color Contrast: Some text and background color combinations might not provide sufficient contrast, however where possible we aim to ensure this is not the case.

Embedded Maps: embedded Google Maps are not accessible within the site

Descriptive Links: We endeavour to ensure that, where needed and possible, we include appropriate use of links and ensure that links are descriptive. If any links are not descriptive, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information, we will rectify this if notified.

While we aim to ensure all content on our website is accessible, some third-party materials or linked resources may not fully meet accessibility standards. We encourage you to contact us if you have difficulties accessing external content.
