Important Dates

Year 10 Open Afternoon - FULLY BOOKED
12 June 2019 12:40 PM - 4:15 PM

As you reach a crossroads in your education, we understand that you will be starting to consider your options for the future.  We at the College are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity for current Year 10 students and their parents/guardians to visit the College and truly experience what it is like to be a student at Farnborough.

Attendance at this Open Afternoon is by pre-booked appointment only.  Please note, this event is now full.  If you would like to be added to the waiting list for this event, please contact registry@farnborough.ac.uk .

Students

You will attend taster sessions in three subjects of your choice with each session lasting 40 minutes.  The subjects available for these taster sessions have been selected so that you have an opportunity to experience a wide range of subjects including those that you may be less familiar with.  They represent just some of the courses that will be available to you should you decide to apply to the College.  Your timetable for the day will be confirmed ahead of your visit.

You will also be taken on a guided tour of the College campus by current students who will be able to give you even more of an insight into life at Farnborough.  Timings for the afternoon are as follows:

12:40pm - Arrive and sign in

1:00pm - Guided tour of the College campus

1:45pm - Subject Taster Session 1

2:35pm - Subject Taster Session 2

3:25pm - Subject Taster Session 3

Parents/Guardians

The College feels very strongly about working with parents/guardians to ensure your child’s success.  Your visit will include a talk from the Principal, a guided tour of the College campus (refreshments will be served as part of the tour) and a presentation on the pastoral support system.  Throughout the afternoon, you will also receive information and guidance on the College’s application process.  Timings for the afternoon are as follows:

12:40pm – Arrive and sign in

1:00pm - Meet the Principal

2:00pm - Guided tour of the College campus

3:00pm – Presentation on the pastoral system

As part of our safeguarding procedures, we require parents/guardians to provide their contact details (if they are attending the Year 10 Open Afternoon) and to have pre-booked their child’s place.  Please note, we will not be able to accept visitors who have not booked their place in advance.

General information

As it is a working College day, it will not be possible to speak to individual subject teachers on this occasion.  However, you will have this opportunity at our Open Days, which will be held in October 2019.  You may also wish to read about the wide range of courses we offer, which can be found here.

Parking will be made available on campus - our College Guardians will be on hand to direct you.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to the College!
