Location: The Prospect Trust Academy Sites and Client School sites

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract: Part time: 3 days per week. Monday-Friday, Term-Time only. Hybrid working.

The Prospect Trust is a multi-academy Trust based on the Hampshire / Surrey border. 
It provides outstanding education and support for c. 6,000 learners through its family of local academies that include The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School, Frimley and Frimley CofE Junior School.

We are an ambitious Trust with a relentless desire to improve the educational outcomes and lives of the young people in our local communities. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Careers Advisor to join our Careers Information Advice and Guidance department.

Key purpose of the role:

Due to expansion we are recruiting for this exciting, full time opportunity for a qualified and highly experienced careers professional with excellent administration and time management skills to join The Prospect Trust’s (TPT) award winning Careers Services team.  We are seeking a qualified (minimum Level 4) motivated and flexible careers adviser to provide an outstanding service to students from (TPT) academies and to schools outside of the trust who we provide a careers service to. 

The successful applicant will join an award winning team and work alongside a team of professional advisers and coordinators whilst reporting to the Lead CEIAG Adviser. 

The main focus of this role is to deliver an outstanding IAG service across all TPT academies and partner schools in order to:

  • enable all students to make informed, suitable and achievable career decisions 
  • advise all students on how to source relevant training courses or qualifications and what funding/bursaries might be available 
  • provide advice to all students on CV and personal statement preparation, college, university, apprenticeship and employment applications, job search and interview techniques
  • ensure relevant pastoral and subject tutors are appraised of any relevant discussion outcomes via agreed communication routes
  • deliver small group sessions or larger presentations on all aspects of careers work and topics related to progression across TPT academies and schools as appropriate
  • support all students in the use of computer aided IAG and Labour Market Information (LMI) packages to help students understand and access information about the current job market 
  • assist the Lead CEIAG Advisor in the development and use of service tracking systems, as appropriate for service users 
  • support and advise  curriculum and pastoral colleagues in relation to progression opportunities relevant to their areas of responsibility

This position is term time only.  You will need to hold a full driving licence as movement between the sites is an essential criteria for this role.
