The Award winning Grounds Staff with Principal Simon Jarvis

The College is celebrating, after being awarded Gold and Category Winner for Best Commercial Display or Landscaping, in Rushmoor in Bloom 2015, for the second consecutive year.

With a long and distinguished record of prize winning, this is a fitting tribute to the dedication, imagination and sheer hard work of the Grounds Staff team.  Visitors to the College often comment on the surroundings which greet them and the grounds play a key part in motivating students to achieve their full potential and to enjoy College life to the full.

Simon Jarvis, College Principal said, “We are delighted that the quality of the floral displays and planting around the grounds, has again been recognised by Rushmoor Borough Council, through the competition.  Our superb grounds are created and maintained through the hard work and dedication of Trevor Hopkins and his team (Ray Clark, Dean Hopkins and Benjamin Merryweather), I'm so proud of the team - they are outstanding.”

Trevor Hopkins, Senior Groundsman at the College commented on the achievement, "Receiving this award is important for everyone here and reflects the high standards which we, as a College, strive to maintain in all areas. Winning this award makes all the hard work seem worthwhile and knowing that everyone who comes here enjoys the environment makes it even more rewarding."

Lisa Thornett, Technical Officer, Contract Management – Grounds and Rushmoor in Bloom Community, Rushmoor Borough Council said, "We were very pleased to award Farnborough Sixth Form their Gold Standard for Best Commercial Display or Landscaping in Rushmoor in Bloom 2015.  The standard this year has been exceptional and we are always overwhelmed at the time and effort invested in creating such a wonderful floral display at Farnborough Sixth Form.  Congratulations should go to the whole team whose entry into the competition contributes enormously to help keep Rushmoor Blooming!"
