Students and #whereisthebear outside the Palace of Westminster

On Friday 2 October 2015, 39 Government and Politics students took full advantage of the sunny weather to visit the Palace of Westminster and the UK's Parliament.

Our students were given the special opportunity to access the Palace through the Sovereign's entrance - usually reserved for the Queen. Once in the palace they were escorted through both the House of Lords and the House of Commons, where many of them noticed how small the chamber is.

After the tour, students attended a seminar on rights and representations where they demonstrated impressive knowledge of political concepts and theories. There was even an opportunity to have a quick look at the UK's Supreme Court and Downing Street.

Government and Politics Curriculum Manager Nathan Scott said, "I was so impressed that our students used their experiences from their lessons to contribute to the seminars. They were knowledgeable and engaging. We are lucky that Parliament runs such a good trip."
