Ali bravely having her head shaved

Hundreds of students and staff gathered in Café D at lunchtime on Friday 23 January, to support student Ali Brady as she bravely had her head shaved in support of cancer charities.

Ali said of her decision to have her head shaved “There are many people who could enjoy my hair more than I do, like girls and boys who have lost their hair as they battle against cancer”.

Hairdressers from Luxe Hair Design in Alexandra Road, North Camp very kindly gave their time, free of charge, to come in to College to cut Ali’s hair and shave her head. The hair will be donated to a human wig company who work in partnership with Cancer Research UK and funds raised donated to the Charity. Stephanie Baker, Owner of Luxe Hair Design said “We were very happy to be asked to be involved in such a brave gesture”.

Christine Eustace, Director of Community Engagement at the College said, “I was very proud of Ali today, what a nice way to ease into the weekend by witnessing such a selfless act”.

On the day over £720 was collected from students and staff, which will be donated to The Frimley Park Hospital Breast Care Appeal.
