Principal, Simon Jarvis with Carol Stanton and Katy Marlow who are also doing the skydive
Dear all,
I'm hoping you can help me so please read on... to raise funds for local good causes, I have agreed to get pushed out of a plane! Yes, I'm doing a sky dive (and no, I've never done it before and having reached my sixth decade, had every reason to think I might get through the remaining years without dangling from a parachute, thousands of feet above Salisbury Plain!) with the hope that just about everyone I know will encourage me with a little sponsorship.
All the money raised will go to The Community Matters Partnership, which is committed to improving the life chances of young people in the community. You may, for example, have read on the front of the local paper about troubled neighbourhood heroes, The Gaming Zone: a brilliant organisation doing highly valued work which is struggling to survive.
I have set a target of raising £5,000 - but of course, if all the College students, their parents, staff, governors, business connections, my family and friends could donate a £1 of sponsorship, then we could smash that target! The sky dive is on Wednesday 6 May 2015.
Donations can be made at http://communitymatterspartnership.org.uk/Blog
You can also follow my progress on our College Twitter using #PushThePrincipal
Please help me by making a contribution - every little helps, as they say, and every penny will go towards transforming the life chances of young people.
Thank you for taking time to read this.
Simon
