The Richard Compton Creative Writing Competition prize winners
The Richard Compton Creative Writing Competition, now in its fourth year, is an annual award established in the memory of Richard Compton, who served as the Clerk of the College’s Corporation from February 1999 until he sadly passed away in October 2010. Richard was a very talented writer, making this competition the perfect way to celebrate his life and remember his remarkable talent.
This year, awards were presented to the winner and runner-up of the competition by College Principal, Simon Jarvis and the Vice Chairman of the College Corporation, Peter Eyre. In addition to receiving a cheque, the students were also given a College bear.
AS student Zoe Huppert, who studies Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Statistics, was awarded the winner’s title for her piece, ‘A Day In The Life Of Fear’.
The runner-up was A2 student Bethany O’Sullivan, who studies Graphics, Biology, Chemistry and Statistics, for her piece entitled, ‘Forget everything and run’.
