We are sure you are aware of the devastating natural disaster that occurred earlier this month in Nepal - many people have died and many more have minimal access to food, shelter and medical supplies. We need to do everything we can to help. This has been distressing to many members of the College's student body, as well as staff, which is why the entire College came to a stop at 10:50am on the morning of Friday 1 May, in order to show their support and participate in a minute’s silent reflection.

As well as collecting donations throughout the day, essential items including baby food, baby and children’s clothes, nappies, blankets, duvets, torches and batteries were donated. These items will be sent to the local British Gurkha Society.

Over £1700 was raised on Friday, including money collected from a bake sale - students also collected donations at the recent Information Evening and raised £266. The money will go to the Lisa May Foundation. To donate, click here.

Student Rebecca Marshall, Publications Officer on the 2015-2016 Student Association commented, “With so many students eager to contribute towards efforts for the earthquake relief, collection buckets were constantly filling up on Friday. The sense of community within College couldn't have been stronger as all students and staff gave generously. Our thoughts were with survivors and their families long after the minute's reflection had been observed.”
