The Musical Theatre Company (MTC) together with Musical Theatre Enrichment presented a showcase, brimming with talent in their final performance of the year, in the Prospect Theatre. The show was packed with a variety of numbers, performed in two acts, the first filled with songs from, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ to the latest Disney musical hit, ‘Into the Woods’, and the second boasting hits from ‘The Jersey Boys’ to the classic ‘Ghost’. From solo numbers to full cast renditions, the students’ performances encapsulated the achievements of this talented ensemble.

On stage performances were bought to life by the efforts of the accomplished Flexi-Crew, the student team of Technical Support and Stage Management, under the direction of our Theatre Technician, Scott Eveleigh.

Jenii Luperi, Musical Director for the MTC said, “The progression and range of achievement this year, in Musical Theatre Enrichment, has been outstanding. The students have worked incredibly hard throughout the Movie Musicals Showcase project, not only on their vocal performances, but also on the aesthetic and technical aspects of the production. I think as one of the strongest ensemble groups in recent years, the energy and enthusiasm of the company members really shone through some stunning performances.”

Highlights from the varied evening included an incredibly moving rendition of 'With You' from Ghost the musical, sung beautifully by Hannah Stokes, and choreographed/danced by the captivating Louise Adamson, whilst Erin Cooney's and Lily Norton's rousing performance of 'Love who you love' from Bonnie and Clyde was complimented by some outstanding technical work from this year’s Flexi Crew.

The production proved to be a fitting farewell for the students who are leaving us this year and a credit to their incredible commitment and ability.”

Assistant Director, AS Drama and Theatre Studies student, Louise Johns said, “Being part of enrichment has been a fantastic experience over the last two years. I’m going to miss it so much next year!”

Lily Norton, part of Musical Theatre Enrichment added, “Performing arts enrichment has been a great experience, I feel it’s a chance to develop both our technical and performance skills. I've enjoyed everything we've worked on these past two years. I'll miss it a lot! “
