Students working on the project
Building on the success of previous collaborations with the London School of Economics (LSE), Media and Film enrichment students have delivered a series of three short films to launch the new Mediation Service at the university. So pleased are the LSE with the result that they have placed them prominently on the LSE website for use by staff.
A team of 12 students, with the support of Aidan Hamilton, Jane Thomas, David Linsell and James Bale from Media and Film Studies team at the College, developed the project from pitch to production over a period of 4 months, using the regular Wednesday afternoon enrichment slots plus some additional extra-curricular time. It involved visits from LSE staff to outline the brief, recurring visits and location shoots at the LSE in London, post production meetings to decide on final content and a complex process of editing to meet the needs of the brief.
The students involved in the project were: Zach Boakes, Phoebe Brunnock, Buzz Fellows Yates, Julian Frank, Rebecca Harrie, James Hurrell, MacKenzie Morrison, Abigail Orme, Hollie Rhodes, Neil Sharma, Nathan Staker and Louisa Wicks.
What did the LSE think of the final result? Here’s Gail Keeley, HR Manager, "Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to all the students and staff involved in this project. I cannot express enough in writing just how professional, engaged and creative everybody who worked on this was.
We are hoping that it will make a real difference and are very grateful for the time, effort and competence that the students, with your support, have put into the work. I am sure that you are very proud of them.”

Aidan Hamilton, Senior Curriculum Manager for Media & Film Studies commented, “We are proud of the students’ work and the fruitful relationship we have developed with the LSE, one of the top Universities, not just in the UK, but in the world.”
