Students with Dr Charlie Frowd
Psychology students were delighted to welcome Dr Charlie Frowd from Winchester University on Monday 22nd June 2015.
He gave an animated and fascinating insight into how psychologists can help the police to catch criminals through the use of facial composite systems. He talked through the different systems that have been used (e.g. photofit and e-fit) and explained how technology and an understanding of the psychology behind face recognition has led to the development of the most successful system to date, known as EvoFit.
His research features on the A2 Forensic Psychology course, so it was great for the students to meet him in person.
Subject Tutor for Psychology, James Bacon said that, "the talk was perfectly matched to the level of the audience."
First year students Elenie Biscombe and Charlie Murray commented that, "the talk was an insightful presentation into the world of criminology and, as Forensic psychology is not covered at AS, it gave us really useful information."
