In spite of the autumnal chill, there was a hubbub of activity on campus as we held our annual Open Days on the 21 and 22 October. Open Days offer a unique chance for prospective students and parents to visit the College and explore the many opportunities we have to offer.
Our staff and student volunteers spent the days speaking to thousands of young people and their parents about the wide variety of courses available, the diverse enrichment experiences, the brilliant pastoral programme, our dedicated careers and volunteering hub and much more. There was also a chance to take part in science experiments, observe dance and drama rehearsals and contribute to a blank canvas in the Art Department!
Buskers performed throughout the days, providing a lively musical backdrop on the campus, entertaining our visitors as they waited to hear from Principal, Simon Jarvis. Simon’s talk focused on the ethos of the College - that students are here to learn, enjoy and achieve. Our Deputy Principal, Student Services, Catherine Cole also spoke about the substantial support networks within the College, whilst our Student Association President, Kayleigh Obongonyinge and Vice President, Charlie Crumpton, described what it is like to be a student here.
