Health Promotion Day
On Wednesday 27 January students studying the Health and Social Care Cambridge Technicals Course helped in a College-wide Health Promotion Campaign. Participation was encouraged by the Health and Social Care team including Dr Susie Nyman, Miss Elinor Thomas, Mrs Anna Alcalde-Mills and Mrs Lesley Connor. Also present at the event was the The Hampshire Sexual Health Promotion Team who were carrying out phase 2 of their Chlamydia Screening programme.
The students set up many different stalls with topics ranging from Skin Cancer to Smoking, Healthy Eating and Stress. The Health Promotion Day was a wonderful success.
Dr Nyman, Curriculum Manager Health and Social Care reported that, “it is magnificent for our students to be involved in such an active ‘Hands On’ approach to Health Promotion. Our students are brilliant ambassadors for the College and it was a delight to see them using their Communication and Employability Skills, relishing working together, and helping one another so splendidly.”
