The College was delighted to welcome 3Fall Dance Company recently, when they visited us to run a Workshop with A level Dance students and give a performance, as part of their tour of the South of England.
Sally Reed, Curriculum Manager Dance and Associate Tutor said “This was a great opportunity to bridge the gap between the A level dancers and undergraduate dance students from Chichester University. There is a two-way exchange on raising the technical and choreographic skills of the A level dancers and developing the teaching/coaching skills of the 3Fall Dance Company members. It was clear that all those involved were inspired by the experience.”
Laurie-Ann Jeffrey, part of the 3Fall Dance Company and former Dance and Performing Arts student at the College commented “It is great to work with the students, who show a high level of ability to work with the movement phrases and produce creative outcomes.”
Comments from A level dancers who took part included:
“I enjoyed learning part of the repertoire that I got to see later in the performance.”
“It was good to work with undergraduate dance students to view the standard of work produced at that level, in advance of going to university to study dance.”
“I was really inspired by the technical ability of the performers."
“I was impressed with the professionalism of the performance and the skills of the dancers”.
“The dancers were so friendly, I really enjoyed working with them.”
Dance and Photography student Isabelle Espana-O’Kelly took photos on the day, some of which accompany this article.
