On Friday 23 June 2016, students studying the brand new BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Music Performance performed in an assessed live concert to mark the end of a very successful first year of the course.
During the course, students independently formed bands, selected repertoire and regularly rehearsed their material in preparation for the event.
Overall, five bands performed across the two classes, delivering arrangements of tracks featuring delicate four part harmonies to scintillating high energy bass, drums, guitar and vocals.
Students also played some fantastic interpretations of contemporary rock & pop songs from artists such as Coldplay, All Time Low and Catfish & The Bottlemen, to Drake, Bastille and Fleetwood Mac.
Tom Stevens, Subject Leader for BTEC Music Performance said, "The student’s performances were brilliant, clearly demonstrating significant instrumental and vocal talent far beyond their years!"
