Politics students meet Lord Kinnock
Posted on 01 August 2016

On the 4 July, four lucky Government and Politics students won the opportunity to have tea at the House of Lords at the invitation of former Labour Party Leader Lord Kinnock

India Stark-Toller, Thomas Edwards, Nathaniel Wright and Megan Harber were being rewarded for their hard work for designing a display on the European Union and were treated to a passionate speech from one of the most engaging orators in British Politics.  Lord Kinnock spoke passionately about the Brexit referendum and about the future of young people in Britain.

Nathan Scott, Curriculum Manager for Government & Politics, extended his thanks to Team Global, who helped organise the event.  "In Lord Kinnock, Team Global have a champion who can really inspire. The students were mesmerised."

Lord Kinnock was clearly on form - after our lunch, he joined a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party and received a standing ovation for his words.
