A glittering evening of colour and texture, the Fashion Show 2017 took place during the evening of 20 June. The Prospect Theatre was transformed into a fashion hotspot with a procession of innovative collections, inspired by current high street trend forecasts ranging from ‘Off The Street’, to ‘Cross Cultures’ and ‘Festival Sounds’.
The textiles used included a wide range of digitally printed surfaces, alongside metallic hues with intriguing drapes. Heavy embellishments on bright colours with touches of floral detailing contrasted against monochromatic prints sculpted on the body with melted plastic fabrics.
The 50 garments on display were all produced by our fantastic fashion textiles cohort as part of their A level studies and were modelled by 26 of our current students.
Becky Barnes, Curriculum Manager for fashion textiles said, “This year’s fashion show was electric! Everyone involved did an amazing job, those who created and modelled these inspirational designs as well as those who worked behind the scenes focusing on styling, hair and makeup. This has been our most successful show yet.”
