Social Scientists in Training
Posted on 20 November 2017

10 students from Psychology and Sociology recently took part in the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Festival of Social Science. They attended a day at the Royal Holloway University of London to design a research project, the results of which will be presented next year.

Second year student Mia Newcombe commented, I really enjoyed the trip! It was incredible to get such direct help from the university students and teachers when designing our own research. Their feedback was really helpful and I learnt a lot.”

Aliana Kristen Purugganan said, “The trip was so inspiring. The fact that we get to continue the research project we have designed is very exciting. I can’t wait to learn more about social psychology!”

Course Representative, Lucy Rogers remarked, “This trip gave me a fantastic chance to spend the day as an undergraduate student at my top choice university. I know that the skills I learnt will stand me in good stead when I start my degree studies."

Students were praised by Royal Holloway University staff on the ideas and work ethic they displayed on this visit. They will now conduct their research during Psychology Week at College and over the next term.
