DofE expedition success

A large group of students recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh Qualifying Expedition, a significant and challenging step towards achieving their full award.

14 students hoping to complete their silver award took part in a three day trek around Abergavenny in the cold and continual rain! They climbed over the top of the infamous Sugar Loaf and were very disappointed to learn at the highest point, 596m, it is 4m short of being classed as a mountain!

43 gold award students, trekked for four days, wild camping in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales. The weather conditions were challenging to say the least, but they all completed the challenge and reached the finish tired but cheerful.

Congratulations to all and good luck in the next adventure.
