Inspired by a desire to establish a lasting bond between Scandinavia and the UK, the College have spent two years planning a performing arts exchange. A relationship where cultural values could be shared and a mutual love for all things theatre, drama, movement and music celebrated. To begin, 30 students and teachers from Hjorring Gymnasium, Denmark and Skien Videregaende, Norway recently visited the College.

In a packed programme spanning three days, students shared workshops, visited London for a West End show and had a tour of the Globe Theatre, all culminating in a performance in the College’s Prospect Theatre. The show displayed the efforts of the young students involved with an eclectic and beautiful range of song, music, movement and text fused together in contemporary harmony. 

Kayla Wilson, first year drama and performing arts student said, "I loved the experience and made lots of new friends" and fellow student Chloe Fowler also commented, "All the activities were fantastic and the performance on the final day was amazing!" 

Matt Sheppard, Senior Curriculum Manager for performing arts commented, "It was such a wonderful thing to see all the students work together for a common aim and produce work of such sensitivity and care. We look forward to continuing this partnership next year when we visit Denmark with more students and bigger ambitions."
