Travel Scholarships 2018
Posted on 24 May 2018

12 students have received scholarship awards to aid their fundraising efforts for planned trips to volunteer abroad.  The Travel Scholarships are discretionary awards, supporting independent travel and development of personal and social skills.

Students are undertaking a variety of projects this year from improving the health and hygiene of local people in Tanzania, working with the Urban Saints Charity building houses in South Africa and volunteering in orphanages in Nepal.  Students are taking time out of their summer holiday to take on a personal challenge and help others less fortunate than themselves.

The students must document their trip and on return, submit a written piece about their experience and what they learnt.

The 2018 Travel Scholars are Alina Thapa, Angila Lingden, Arin Sherpunja, Beenu Weerawardena, Bipasna Gurung, Gaurab Rai, Pranim Gurung, Priyanka Ghale, Riya Jimee, Saru Gurung, Olivia Clarke and Anna Thornley.

Well done to you all and we wish you safe travels on your adventure.
