Oxford University Inspirational Teachers
Posted on 22 February 2019

Each year the University of Oxford’s Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Office runs an award scheme which recognises the crucial role teachers and careers advisors play in encouraging talented students in the schools and colleges they work with. A selection of current first year Oxford undergraduates were asked to nominate those who inspired them to apply to Oxford, fostered their passion for a particular subject or supported them through the application process.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our teachers, from Philosophy and Politics, were nominated for this fantastic award by former students. They were described by the students as inspirational and encouraging, and in their nominations they thanked them for all they have done for them. One former student commented that the teacher was always willing to go the extra mile for all the students at Farnborough with no exception and was a great mentor, role model and teacher.

The other described their teacher as being unique in remembering that learning is not merely a checkbox exercise and a means to an end, but an enriching process in and of itself.

We are delighted to have such brilliant teachers here at the College and congratulations to both of them on this amazing achievement.
