At the beginning of April, three students attended The Schools’ Analyst Competition at University of Reading.
The Schools' Analyst Competition is run by the Royal Society of Chemistry's Analytical Division for first year sixth form students studying A level chemistry. Regional heats are held in early Spring each year, with the winning teams going through to the National Finals held in June.
The College team was made up of first year students Aishwarya Anand, Georgina Wickens and Amelia Abbott, who had to complete a three hour practical activity in a lab to determine the quantity of aspirin in a tablet.
The team worked brilliantly together but unfortunately did not get into the top three of the near 15 teams taking part. Despite the result an enjoyable day was had by all – well done to Aishwarya, Georgina and Amelia!
