Bob Rehill, CEO and Founder of Bob Rehill & Associates and a respected project consultant with over 20 years’ experience, approached the College with an extremely generous offer back in 2018. Bob wanted to introduce a programme for students to support and fund entrepreneurial projects.

This was an offer too good to be refused. First year students with a business idea, or even with a business already up and running, were invited to apply to be a beneficiary of the Bob Rehill Entrepreneur Programme. As well as completing an online application summarising the entrepreneurial project, applicants had to make a short video outlining their idea and why they felt Bob might want to support them. A shortlist of four finalists then presented their plans to a panel led by Bob and supported by his Executive Assistant, Michelle Evelyn-Wood and Christine Eustace, Director of Community Engagement at the College.

The successful students will receive one-to-one coaching sessions with Bob; specialist advice for four months to encourage the growth of their idea; a share of a cash grant of up to £10,000; support with marketing, administration and other back office functions; and access to a wide range of additional contacts willing to support the students.

After much debate and consideration, Bob selected first year student, Ethan Kendall owner of Cars and Breakfast Hampshire, a regular supercar breakfast meet for passionate car enthusiasts, and first year student, Barnaby Baker for his business Young Musician Services, inspiring young people to take up instrumental lessons, whilst offering students the opportunity to perform and teach.

On hearing that his bid had been successful, Ethan said, “I am very happy to receive funding and mentoring support from Bob. The funding will go towards a brand new website as well as helping me to develop successful business partner relationships.”

Barnaby commented, “The College has provided me with a fantastic opportunity to work with experienced people on a project which I’m passionate about. I can’t wait to start work on my business.”

Bob commented, “It’s been a great experience for me personally, and hopefully for the students too. I am really excited to be supporting these two young entrepreneurs and helping them to achieve their goals and ambitions.”
