During the month of June, the Psychology Department runs a competition to encourage students studying graphics to present their logos for Psychology Week in November. Psychology Week is an annual event here at the College that celebrates the study of psychology. Whether you are studying the subject or not, the entire student body is encouraged to take part in masterclasses, research opportunities and lectures, all delivered by renowned experts, some of whom are former students.
The competition had many entries and, after going through each and every one of them, the team decided that the winner was first year student, Rhianna Grainger!
As well as doing the logo for this event, Rhianna will also create posters, banners and programmes.
Anna Alcalde-Mills, Subject Tutor of Psychology said, “We like to encourage our students to share their abilities in other areas. It is important to create different ways to give all our students the opportunity to express their creativity as well as a platform to show their work to others (through Twitter and the College website).”
Rhianna commented, “I am so pleased to have won the competition, as now my work will be shown around College, meaning lots of people can see what I can do! It has also given me greater confidence in my work and can help me in the future.”
