Our annual Moving On Day was once again a great success! This all-college event, now the largest of its kind in the UK, aims to inspire and inform first year students of the many possible progression pathways available to them in the future. This year an amazing 1892 students attended to discover all the future opportunities that are available to them.
There were over 160 stands in the exhibition halls and a total of 190 seminars consisting of 59 progression-linked seminars and 131 unique specialist seminars.
As well as a number of UK universities, apprenticeship providers and professionals from various fields in attendance, for the first time we had the High Commission of Canada talking about study opportunities in Canada and a representative from the University of Western Australia! We also had a return visit from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University & Ritsumeikan University (Japan). All of the Armed Forces were in attendance talking about the diverse opportunities they can offer plus a number of GAP year providers.
One of our former students and ex-Student Association President, Dr Kiran Eyre, gave a talk about what medical school is really like and what life is like as a student doctor. Kiran is a recently qualified doctor working at Frimley Park Hospital.
Thank you to all the speakers and exhibitors who provided such expert information and advice to help our students make well-informed decisions about their futures. We would also like to say a big thank you to our sponsors this year:
Feedback from the event has been very positive and we can’t wait to see what Moving On Day 2020 has to offer!
