Puppetry Workshop
Posted on 11 December 2019

Comedian, ventriloquist and former Farnborough student Max Fulham recently returned to the College to deliver a puppetry workshop to our second year drama students.

Max has previously starred as a headline cabaret act for Butlins Holiday Resorts and has had several pantomime roles. He is currently playing Washee in a production of Aladdin alongside Christopher Biggins, who plays Widow Twankey, at The Bromley theatre.

The students worked in small groups to build their puppets, which were made from newspaper and sticky tape, then learned how to position and move it correctly. The workshop really helped them with the work they are currently doing for their component two unit – performance material. As part of the unit, they are also focusing on the theatre group ‘Kneehigh’ and performances by Emma Rice, an actress director and theatre professional.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, with all of them creating fantastic puppetry performances.
