The Prospect Trust Careers Services Department are applying for reassessment for the Quality in Careers Standard Award.

The Quality in Careers Standard is the national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) in schools, colleges and work-based learning and fully complies with the Department for Education’s ‘Statutory Guidance’.

The College, in its commitment to provide excellent careers education information, advice and guidance to all its students, will be applying to renew its Quality in Career Standards award for the fifth time.

Since the last reassessment, the changes in Government policy have had an effect on the provision that the College offers its students.  As a College, we have embraced these changes and have strengthened the careers provision by embedding the Gatsby recommendations for Good Career Guidance in our tutorial and curriculum programmes. We will also be incorporating the latest Department for Education guidelines set out in the 2018, ‘Careers Guidance: for further education and sixth form colleges’ paper.

During the last academic year, delivery of the careers programme was adapted to meet the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic by offering virtual careers interviews, events, work experience opportunities and the Prospects Diploma.

The Prospect Trust Careers Services team continually strives to offer access to a comprehensive range of careers and employment support to all students.

Nikki Coleman, Head of CEIAG said that, “Achieving this award will demonstrate that we are providing excellent careers education, information, advice and guidance for all our students”.
