The Water Street Fund is a small, private, charitable fund which has been established by one of the College’s long-standing supporters. It aims to help young people who want to progress from sixth form into the next stage of education or training, but whose financial circumstances make it difficult to do so. The fund offers a limited number of grants each year of between £250 and £1,000.
We are delighted that the Water Street Fund has been able to support College students, with four of our second year bursary students being awarded grants this year. The students are planning on studying degrees in graphic design, journalism, criminology and music production; they will be using their grants to help with the purchase of textbooks, IT equipment and course fees.
Adam Slade, Lead Tutor for Disadvantaged Students, commented, “I know that these grants are going to make the transition to higher education just that little bit easier for these young people. I would like to thank the Water Street Fund for its continued support, particularly during such a tough financial period.”
