Our 2024 Oxbridge students
Each year, we report on the number of students from the College who have been offered places at Oxbridge. This year 27 students have been celebrating receiving an offer of a place at either the University of Oxford or Cambridge; the two most prestigious, highest ranking, and oldest universities in England. We are hugely proud of our students, 14 of whom will be enrolling at Cambridge and 13 at Oxford in September 2024. They will be going on to study a variety of degrees, from Biochemistry to Geography, Languages and Engineering.
In the summer term, before applications open, the College runs a weekly programme for students who are interested in finding out more about applying for Oxford or Cambridge to help support their preparation. This included an interactive session with Farnborough alumni who are now studying at these universities, who spoke about their experience of the application process and answered questions on what life is like as a student at these world famous institutions.
Students also had support in preparing for any admissions tests and then for their interview, including at least one mock interview with college staff or our alumni students.
In September 2023, 65.3% of our second year students went onto Higher Education, with 20.2% of our total cohort attending a Russell Group University, a group of 24 leading UK universities dedicated to outstanding teaching, learning and research. These numbers are a tremendous reflection of the high quality of teaching and learning at the College.

Alison Woolley, Director of Higher Education Access at the College, commented, “We are really proud of all of our students' continued dedication and hard work in working towards their chosen Higher Education routes. Competition at these universities is fierce so they should be very proud of what they have achieved. We would also like to thank our fantastic alumnus for giving up their time to guide our students. We wish everyone the best of luck in September”
