SIXFEST’—the College’s premier annual music festival—made a triumphant return to the stage of the Prospect Theatre on Friday, 7th March 2025, delivering a night brimming with electrifying performances and unforgettable musical moments.

This exhilarating event showcased some of the College’s most promising emerging talent, expertly coordinated by dedicated student teams alongside staff from the Music Technology department. With a diverse repertoire spanning easy listening, indie rock, folk, garage, ska, rock, and beyond, the festival celebrated an eclectic mix of genres, ensuring there was something for every musical palate.

The evening’s performers displayed remarkable artistry, stage presence, and professionalism, with many bands and solo artists presenting original compositions—songs they had recently written, recorded, and released.

Kicking off the festival with an effortlessly charming and uplifting set, The Compasses set the tone for the night, followed by The Morettis, who shifted the atmosphere with a dynamic indie rock performance. Soloist Caleb Cooper transported the audience through time with a heartfelt rendition of Don’t Think Twice by Bob Dylan, while The Venturas ignited the crowd with their infectious energy and anthemic rock melodies that demanded to be sung along to.

The BTECS had the audience united in song with their rousing take on Livin’ on a Prayer by Bon Jovi, while Kurupted FM brought the house down with Heart Monitor Riddem, raising over £300 in support of Cancer UK.

The momentum continued with Horizon performing hits from Queen, followed by Nostalgia, who had the crowd swaying to American Boy by Estelle. AMNESIA embraced the Y2K spirit with a nostalgic set featuring Blink-182 and Green Day, while Chameleon and The Offbeats joined forces to deliver an irresistible fusion of jazz and ska, compelling the audience to dance along to their infectious rhythms.

As the night reached its crescendo, Composure and The Breakoffs mesmerized the audience with a hauntingly beautiful rendition of All I Want by Kodaline, before closing the festival with an impeccable, spirit-lifting performance of Saturday by Sam Fender—a truly inspiring finale to an extraordinary evening of live music.

Dan Cleary, Pastoral Director added, “I had a fantastic evening. The quality of everything was really high and the students demonstrated the very best of the college community. Creative, Talented, Resilient, Confident young people performing in a highly professional way. The talent on show was phenomenal!”
