The Media & Film Awards 2026 took place on the first Friday after the half-term break, an evening dedicated to celebrating the outstanding coursework achievements of our second-year Media, Film, and CTEC students.

This year’s Stranger Things theme took guests on a narrative-driven journey interwoven with the awards presentation. Categories included Best Cinematographer, Best Mise-en-scène, and many more across the various subject areas.

The show included a storyline of Technicians Molly and Kieran against Techna (Vecna), in which the student coursework was used to break the rift between our reality and Techna’s. Interspersed with a number of recognisable teacher cameos!

Students had the opportunity to see their coursework on the big screen and those lucky enough to win, received a certificate and a mini Oscar. Throughout the night, teachers presented various categories and winners were invited to give a speech if they wished.

Reflecting on the night, the department shared: "We left the event feeling immensely proud and excited to see what these students achieve next. The way everyone supported and lifted up their peers was a true testament to how amazing this cohort has been. It has been an absolute honour to spend the past two years with them."
