The event in action

Students from History, German and Graphic Design recently organised the 7th annual Art/History exhibition at Royal Holloway University.

This project involves students from History studying art and the overall historical context based on the theme chosen by Royal Holloway. This year was focused on Art, Politics and Propaganda. The Graphic Design students then designed the exhibition booklet and posters. For the first time this year the project also featured German language students and their translations of a famous German poem from the Weimar period.

For the evening event the students were involved in designing the exhibition space and presenting on their artists in front of visiting parents, while the German students read their German language poetry inspired by the poet they had studied.

David Brown, Curriculum Manager Modern History reflected on the event "It was a fantastic evening involving students from History, Graphic Design and German working collaboratively to produce the exhibition at the university."
