We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Sir Ian Bauckham CBE, Chief Regulator of Ofqual, along with two colleagues: Ash Dobrock, Director of Communications, and Catherine Ward from the Stakeholder Engagement team to the College.

The morning began with a tour of the College, led by Andy Yarrow, CEO of The Prospect Trust, and Principal Zoe Smallman.

Following the tour, Sir Ian Bauckham delivered a presentation titled “Exploring the Future of Assessment: Perspectives from Ofqual” to an audience of Members, Trustees, Councillors, and senior leaders from The Prospect Trust’s four academies.

Those present found it very interesting to hear about the coming plans for qualifications including the introduction of new ‘V levels’ during future years.

Principal, Zoe Smallman said, “It was a pleasure to welcome Sir Ian and his colleagues to the College and to be able to discuss with them some of the opportunities and challenges ahead for our sector.  Sir Ian was most complimentary about his time here, particularly enjoying meeting and hearing from some of our students.
