Destination Oxbridge
Each year, we report on the number of students from the College who have been offered places at Oxbridge. This year 22 students have received an offer of a place at either the University of Oxford or Cambridge.
We are hugely proud of the 13 students who have offers from Oxford and the 9 who have offers from Cambridge.
From the beginning of their first year, we encourage students to engage with activities that take them beyond the curriculum, such as the Maths Challenge, Chemistry Olympiad, Linguistics Olympiad, Debate Society and the Oxford Big Think.
From January, we run a weekly programme of sessions to support students with their application - from personal statements, to entrance exams, to interviews. These sessions include time with Farnborough alumni, academics and staff from Oxford and Cambridge.
Students also had support in preparing for any admissions tests and then for their interview, including a mock interview with Oxbridge alumni.
In September 2025, 65% of our second year students went onto Higher Education, with 30% of our total cohort attending a Russell Group University, a group of 24 leading UK universities dedicated to outstanding teaching, learning and research. These numbers are a tremendous reflection of the high quality of teaching and learning at the College.

Simon Wood, Head of Chemistry and Oxbridge lead at the College, commented, “I’m really proud of these students for challenging themselves to apply to these highly-competitive universities and succeeding against very strong students from across the country. I am particularly pleased that the students who gained places this year came from a wide variety of our feeder schools, including many which don’t have a history of sending students to the very top universities.
“We couldn’t support our students so well without the help of our fantastic network of College and Oxbridge alumni who give up their time to support students with advice and mock interviews. We wish everyone the best of luck in September.”
