Supporting Student Progression

The College is pleased to announce that nine second-year students have been awarded grants from the Water Street Fund, recognising both their academic commitment and their determination to progress into higher education and training.

The Water Street Fund is a private charitable initiative established by one of the College’s long-standing supporters. The fund is dedicated to assisting young people whose financial circumstances may limit their ability to move from sixth form into the next stage of their education or  training. Each year, a limited number of grants - ranging from £250 to £1,000 - are awarded to eligible students.

This year’s recipients will use their grants to support essential university-related costs, including accommodation expenses, medical equipment, books and laptops, and even a bicycle to assist with travel!

The College extends its warmest congratulations to all nine students on receiving this valuable support. We also express our sincere gratitude to the Water Street Fund for its continued generosity and its meaningful contribution to widening access to further study.

Adam Slade, Pastoral Lead, commented;

“These grants will offer valuable support to these young people as they begin their higher-education journey. We remain deeply appreciative of the Water Street Fund’s ongoing commitment during such a challenging financial period.”
