Next in our ‘Spotlight On’ series is English. The College offers A level English Language, English Literature and English Language & Literature combined, all of which are considered excellent preparation for a wide range of degrees and a vast number of career opportunities.
Professor John Mullan, Head of the English department at University College London, visited the College to deliver a fascinating talk to students focusing on ‘dystopias’. His talk made reference to renowned novels ‘Never Let Me Go’ and ‘The Handmaid's Tale’, which students are currently studying.
Professor Mullan writes for The Guardian Book Club, has judged the Man Booker Prize and been a regular guest on The Review Show on BBC2 and Front Row on Radio 4. Both staff and students enjoyed his engaging and informative lecture.
