Spotlight on…IELTS
Posted on 17 May 2017

Next up in the ‘spotlight on’ series is the IELTS course, the International English Language Testing System. It’s the world’s most popular language testing system with over a million candidates entered each year who do not have English as their first language.  Students are tested on the four main language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.

This year’s cohort from the College have recently been to the University of Surrey to take their exams. It is an intense day of back-to-back exams. Stephani Pistorius, Subject Leader for literacy and communication commented, “It is a really exhausting day for the students, but as always they behaved impeccably and represented the College proudly. Our results in these exams have been some of the best in the country, this is testament to our students’ hard work and dedication to their futures.”

Students who are looking to go onto courses such as medicine, veterinary science and translation are encouraged to take the one year course. It provides students with both the necessary linguistic skills to achieve their full potential in their studies and is highly valued by employers and higher education providers.
