Science, Maths, Technology and Engineering are some of the subjects we cover
This year the Careers team joined forces with our STEM departments to hold the first ever 'STEM Week' and what a fantastic week it was. Over 1,000 students and staff heard from a range of fascinating and inspirational speakers from industry and academia about how they use and apply data in their day to day work.
The students asked some searching and probing questions and the speakers were all impressed with their engagement and enthusiasm. All of the speakers spoke about the skills required to work in a modern workplace, the move towards Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and the need for the students to take advantage of opportunities when they are presented to them.
Nikki Coleman, Head of CEIAG said "In order for students to be inspired and motivated to succeed they need to have access to high-quality, enthusiastic and positive role models within industry who can open their eyes to the realities, criteria and core values required to reach their career goals."
